Fukushima, Scientist letter to UN
Here is a letter a group of prominent scientists sent to the UN secretary, Ban Ki-moon. I applaud their conviction and courage!

Re: Fukushima, Scientist letter to UN
Not sure what this letter is supposed to do! So, a number of scientists, including Arnie Gundersen (surprise, surprise) write a letter to the UN saying that all the "other" scientists that have prepared reports for WHO, IAEA, UNSCRAR are no good, or are not telling the truth, or are being pressured, etc. but this group, writing the letter, are the good, honest, knowledgeable, beyond reproach ones and they are the holders of the truth. They raise some valid pints (e.g., about TEPCO not necessarily being capable of handling this), but they also have some other points that are sort-of cheeky, e.g.
14. The Uranium that was in the reactors at Fukushima Daiichi originated from Aboriginal Lands in Australia, where the traditional people opposed the uranium ever being removed from the ground. It is time for the decision structure of our United Nations to honor and include the wisdom of those who truly, if heard, could have prevented this disaster.
So the traditional people didn't want the uranium being removed, and had the "others" listened, the accident would have been prevented! And that's serious, scientific discourse? TEPCO wouldn't/couldn't have gotten uranium from anywhere else?
Read the letter carefully, for the most part, it's a joke, and it's something one might expect from news people, that are totally ignorant on the subject and are looking for "awe" value - not from responsible scientists.
BTW, I was going to upload the actual WHO report this group of scientists doesn't like, but it's already here on this board, here is the link: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=154&p=523&hilit=who#p523. Anyone who is interested can download and read it themselves.

Re: Fukushima, Scientist letter to UN
Well, what a surprise! Let's just discount scientists whose findings don't agree with our beliefs.
Can you substantively argue about any of the "specific" issues they raise? If so, please do, otherwise there is no need to post your silly arguments.
I will shortly post some other links to other groups that are worried about Fukushima. That can't ALL be wrong!
