Boston: Expert public discussion - post Fukushima

Post by HowardE »

Is anyone going to this panel discussion tomorrow?

http://www.beyondnuclear.org/home/2013/ ... r-kan.html

Apparently these well-known, nuclear knowledgeable people will be discussing what should be done post Fukushima.

I wish I were closer, I wouldn't have missed it.

Quite a line-up :-( Esp. with Gundersen and Jaczko part of it. It will be a few hours of BS with nothing substantive being offered, but scaring the public with words like nuclear, radiation, death, cancer, dangerous, etc. without any factual basis. Why would anyone waste their time to go listen to something like that?

Really? So you don't like Gundersen, a well respected nuclear scientist and Jaczko, an ex- NRC Commissioner? Why, because their views are not tainted by the nuclear industry propaganda? And how about Naoto Kan, the former Japanese Prime Minister? You don't like him either?

Take a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arnold_Gundersen, where it starts: Arnold "Arnie" Gundersen is a nuclear power expert, nuclear power whistleblower and a former nuclear industry executive and engineer with over 30 years of experience. People in all industries respect him! And, I don't need to provide links for G. Jaczko, he is well know, but here is the info on him, as well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaczko

Gundersen, Jaczko respected? And your source is wikipedia? I'm sure you know that it's probably not an accepted reference for even a high school term paper.

Here are some other references about Gundersen's respectability and credentials:
http://atomicinsights.com/was-gundersen ... -licensee/

Is he puffing his resume?
http://atomicinsights.com/arnie-gunders ... e-trusted/

And here is his 1,000,000 deaths from Fukushima, http://www.democracynow.org/2012/3/12/n ... a_meltdown and the last paragraph, of how he concluded that: "And I believe we’re going to see as many as a million cancers over the next 30 years because of the Fukushima incident in Japan." Very scientific :-(

And here is some more...

And Jaczko's fiasco with Fukushima (download the PDF below) and the damage it did:

But, he didn't learn, so he is still advocating a 50-mi evacuation zone, although teh NRC says there is no basis for it:

Wow, gradphys. I always knew Jaczko was wacko, but I wasn't aware of all these details. It now all makes more sense. Thanks for the link.

Well, you guys can pat each other on the back, but if you went to the presentation, or if you watched the video

http://new.livestream.com/FukushimaLessons/boston#!

you'd see for yourself that the presentations were excellent and VERY informative. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to agree with something that might criticize your industry, regardless of how true the criticism might be.
