I hope your fears of that not being the truth are correct, otherwise Japanese are doing themselves a disservice by abandoning nuclear altogether, instead of fixing whatever problems their industry process may have. If their just abandoning it, that's the easy way out. Reminds me of the Germans that took their reactors off-line, after the accident and announced plans to never re-start them, only to do just that a few months later when a cold front hit Europe and they needed the energy
