I don't know who told you that interpolation only has to be simple, or only linear, or... but whoever it was, they were lying to you The complexity, accuracy, etc. of the interpolation is only limited by the knowledge of the user regarding the proce...

I think you guys are all, or most, confused. Interpolation is a simple method to find a value of a functions where the x is between two x-values for which you already know the function value. Why are you confusing it with exponential and logarithmic and all this other things?

That's not exponential, it's clearly a straight line!
