Re: Problem with 5.7 opening in Winsdows 7 32bit

That's a great idea. I actually just tried it with a copy of ASEASY for DOS I just downloaded from this site and it worked like a charm! Is this the only DOS emulator for 64-bit windows out there?

Re: New ASEASY Users?

I am not saying that users should have to be computer experts, but if they don;t understand some basic computer concepts, sooner or later they'll get stuck. It happens with cars all the time. We know how to drive them, but not how they really work. And, once in a while, we get stuck in the middle o...

Yes, HowardE, but you seem to believe them! All I am saying to you is, don't blindly believe everything you read. Consider teh source and also look around to see if there is anyone else collaborating what you read.

Re: What we know about the Fukushima water leaks...

HowardE, I don't think that anyone is doubting a number of 1800 mSv/hr was measured by TEPCO. However, the newspeople that reported it omitted some very "crucial" details that were also provided by TEPCO. For example, they omitted the fact that the 1800 mSv/hr was both beta and gamma at 5 ...

Re: What we know about the Fukushima water leaks...

Talmus, one look at the title of the referenced article is enough to show that the writer is not "reporting" anything, but is trying to convince people that his opinion is *correct*. It's like all those reports that appeared over the last couple of weeks talking about "... Dose rates ...

I guess the Olympic committee did not share your concern! They awarded the 2020 Olympics to Tokyo. I mean come on, we are talking about 7 years from now. Do you really think Fukushima would be a concern?

Re: Stop subsidizing nuclear!

Howard, you may want to attribute to smoking something, but I am not making this up! Here is a gallup poll taken in 2012 *AFTER* the Fukushima accident. Americans support Nuclear Power! http://www.gallup.com/poll/153452/Americans-Favor-Nuclear-Power-Year-Fukushima.aspx There are other sources, with ...

Re: Stop subsidizing nuclear!

I ve voiced my opinion before. Seeing the reckless behavior of TAPCO at Fukushima reminded me that we (government) should stop subsidizing nuclear power to make it look economically attractive. Let it survive on is own and if it can't let it fade away. No more subsidizing technologies and industrie...

Re: Purpose of Board?

Based on the activity over the past few months, the board has become almost a clearing house for people posting documents, reports, etc. I am not complaining, I find a lot of the uploads very interesting. I am just saying what has happened. I believe it would be better if people (all of us) also eng...

Re: Dosimetry Power Point

Hmm... I uploaded the PDF, but it's not *my* material, sorry.

Not sure about the LD(50/30) question (others here may be able to comment). As for the atom bomb numbers, they appear to be similar to other results I have seen from other sources.

Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound like that. All I was trying to say is that I would be interesting is some information about the newer techniques being used nowadays, that's all.

Re: Good Basic Shielding Documents

Interesting, but something a little more "above" the basic concepts would be better, IMHO.
