Re: Random - TI59 Web Site
Ah... that makes sense. 1 Mb ? What was I thinking... I also recall that a lot of people were writing programs and sharing them with other users for a small fee. It was sort-of the first generation of user's groups :-) I remember getting such a program about the learning game of NIM (I think). It w...

Re: Best Project Mgmt Tool ?
I like using SMARTSHEETS, but like Bill_WG said, if you are comfortable with a tool and it does what you want it to do, i.e., manage a project, then it is the right tool for the job.
And, there is nothing wrong with google docs! Use them ALL THE TIME.

Re: Random - TI59 Web Site
BTW, do you recall ho much memory the TI-59 had? Was it something like 1 Mb? I recall it was not all that much. Hi Pleonat, 1 MB ? What are you, nuts? :-) The first IBM PC, a real computer, had 64 K RAM expandable to 640 K. From the TI-59 history site, "The TI-59 used a custom TMC 0501 4-bit p...

Re: What we know about the Fukushima water leaks...
I saw those numbers of 1800 mSv/hr thrown around, too, dhimmer. I used to try and set people straight, when I saw such total misinformation being disseminated, but as I get older I find that my patience is not what it used to be, I now just sake my head and think - poor fools :-( And, I'm sorry to s...

Re: Good Basic Shielding Documents
Interesting, but something a little more "above" the basic concepts would be better, IMHO. There are PLENTY of sources of more advanced material. I'm sure a quick Google search would net you lots of them. I just believe that one should understand the basic principles, before they try to t...

Radiation on Trip to Mars Dangerous
A very interesting article in the May 31 2013 issue of Science, "Measurements of Energetic Particle Radiation in Transit to Mars on the Mars Science Laboratory". There are some assertions that the results agree with earlier predictions. I took a quick look at the attached document, but I a...

Re: How about these Reports on Nuclear?
Nothing like posting two documents, that have nothing to do with each other
One can possibly discuss the very one-sided conclusions in the UCS report, but whsat do you really want to discuss about the Nuclear Famine report? Seriously!
