Re: Agile, Lean, Kanban, XP, Scrum,...

Is there a "method" one can use to determine which approach to use? A lot (most) of the write ups I see about using the agile process are very general and don't give specific deterministic steps to use to come up with what method to use. I was hoping there is such a method out there and so...

Agile, Lean, Kanban, XP, Scrum,...

O.K., all this activity on Agile in this section all of a sudden, has made me take another look and I'll tell you, I'm already totally confused (once again). Agile, Lean, Kanban, XP, Scrum,... alphabet soup. Which one do I use when? How can I determine which one of these methods (and others I didn't...

Re: Possibly wrong subject - Software Development

Although not as against Agile as OscarG is, I have to kind-of agree with him. It was offered to managers and executives as panacea, but it is not. It works in some instances, but doesn't work in others, at least not as evangelized by those who have bought into the cult. OscarG, I spent most of my ti...

Helen, the subject line did not say "which" accident the report was analyzing. You may want to edit it and correct it.

Re: Scilab Questions here ??

Well, I don;t want to talk for the board owner/moderator, but posting some questions about scilab would probably be O.K., as long as it doesn't become the main direction of the forum, since the forum appears to be more about energy, nuclear, etc. Now, if they decide to break up the forum into sectio...

SCILAB Script - 12 Days of Christmas

Here is a sample script I found on-line a wile ago that shows the abilities of array manipulations in SCILAB. It produces all the verses of the 12 days of Christmas. Very interesting. the_verses={'A partridge in a pear tree.'; 'Two turtle doves, and ' ; 'Three French hens, '; 'Four calling birds, ' ...

Re: Scilab - Cubic spline

Not sure if I understand your question, maybe not, but why can't you just use the splin function that's part of scilab 5.4.0 ?

Re: Scilab 5.4.0

I'll wait till the distribution version is available. I have run into all sorts of problems with beta versions of programs ;) Well, the distribution version 5.4.0 *is* now available. http://www.scilab.org/products/scilab/download I downloaded and installed it, although I haven't played with it yet....

Scilab 5.4.0

Anyone here working with the scilab 5.4.0 beta? I've installed it and played with it a bit, but I haven't made up my mind yet, if I like it better than 5.3.3 or not. There were some nuisances in 5.3.3 that have been corrected, but I liked the old interface :-(

Re: SCILAB 5.3.3

Mike, lots of documentation is available fro SCILAB, it all depends on what you are looking for :-) I borrowed (couldn't afford it) Gillberto Urroz's book (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/1588983048?tag=infoclearicom-20&camp=14573&creative=327641&linkCode=am1&creativeASIN=1588...
