Yeah, it could be a lawsuit, but most probably excel ate their lunch, as it did with every other spreadsheet program and just like MS-Word did with every other word processor - where is WordPerfect these days?
It would be interesting to find out what happened, just from a historical perspective.

Re: AS-EASY-AS for Windows - Free!
Haven't encountered any similar problems. I've run it under all flavors of Windows XP. Currently running it on two systems, Win-XP-SP3 and Win-7, 32-bit, and I am not getting the error you mention. Also the NTVDM.EXE error is related to trying to run 16-bit programs and I am pretty sure that ASAWIN ...

Re: Is Open Office Calc the replacement?
Thanks, Hayden. Very helpful post. I tried DOSBox for Win32 and like it, but what is the difference between that and running the native windows prompt on a Windows system? IS there something specific to gaming that DOSBox can do and the windows command prompt can't?

Re: ASAWIN with Ubuntu
I am a newbie at ubuntu, but I can report that I have successfully installed and run ASAWIN95 in it. It feels like quite an accomplishment, given that I don't really know what I am doing :-) It installed without a hitch (using wine). The only difficulty I (still) have is creating a shortcut for it (...

Re: Aseasy for Win and Windows 7
Billrotando, I have been using the program in ubuntu (10.xx, don't have 11.00) without any problems. I encountered no problems whatsoever with the installation.

Re: Technical Documents...
I don't know if this is what people are talking about, when they refer to worked out examples, but I had gotten the links to these documents for ASEASY years ago. Hopefully they are still active and they have some of what people have been asking for. Linear Programming Examples - http://www.triusin...

Re: Aseasy for Win and Windows 7
I was using the windows version of aseasy for years, with win 95, 98, XP and Vista. But, when I updated to Windows 7, I couldn't even install the program. Does anyone here know if there is a way to install and run the program in Windows 7? Bill, what types of problems did you have? I revived my old...

Re: Worked Out Samples
Not sure if they were on the original disk or not. But I know there were a whole bunch of them. I understand that TRIUS is now concentrating on mapping and GIS, but I don't understand why they would just lose that valuable content they had. It doesn't cost them anything to just make it available som...

Re: Worked Out Samples
I did contact them yesterday. They told me most of the old documents are gone, since aseasy was discontinued, but they gave me a link to one of them that they had found, http://www.triusinc.com/techs/basic_linear_programming.pdf That's exactly what I was looking for. I wish I could find the rest of ...

Worked Out Samples
Back, years ago, TRIUS had put together some documents on how to do certain things with their spreadsheet program. Although they were meant for aseasyas, they were general enough that I had found them helpful, in general. They had some statistics, linear programming, etc. Does anyone know where I ca...
