Info About Cosmic Radiation ?
I have been having these conversations with a friend whose father is an airline pilot and she has been telling me about the Cosmic Radiation her father has been exposed to, over the years. I am not claiming any expertise in Cosmic Radiation, but I always thought that it did not amount to anything on...

Re: Nuclear Energy FAQ - Argonne
Great read KimChin. One of the problems is that it should be read by people who do not understand these issues, instead of us reading here and thinking, yeah, we know that...

Re: Good Basic Shielding Documents
I downloaded and read the document Chabot_shielding_of_gamma_radiation.pdf. Very interesting. Who is George Chabot? I like his writing style a lot and would like to read other technical pieces he may have written.

Is it Global Cooling or Global Warming?
The original claim was 40 years ago, but it's still interesting to see the switch.

Re: Has Fukushima's radioactive wave already hit California?
Unfortunately, it's like anything else nowadays. Anyone who has a spare couple of hundred dollars to buy a geiger counter becomes a radiation expert, anyone who can google or has access to webmd becomes a doctor, etc. As we used to hear growing up, "a little bit of knowledge/information can be ...

Re: Technical Documents...
I see. It makes sense. Although, it's not clear how the documents in the folder (not those attached to messages) have something to do with the company. And, for the record, I *still* think that they should organize all these very interesting documents in a better way, so that they could be easier ac...

Re: Fukushima, Scientist letter to UN
Not sure what this letter is supposed to do! So, a number of scientists, including Arnie Gundersen (surprise, surprise) write a letter to the UN saying that all the "other" scientists that have prepared reports for WHO, IAEA, UNSCRAR are no good, or are not telling the truth, or are being ...

Re: Excellent Discussion Forum
I agree 100% More participation would be great. On the other hand, I wouldn't want it to become like a number of other forums I participate in that have become very active, with hundreds of posts on a daily basis, but full of long argument threads and, meaningless drivel. I like the "content-ty...

Re: Energy Sources of the near future
In the not too distant feature, solar/electric cars will be the norm.
I'd like to know more about the bad things about cracking. Any references? Or is it just a feeling? Also where did you see the 90 year reserves thing?

Re: Technical Documents...
Well, I'm a newcomer, but as I was browsing through other threads, I saw that all those documents (and some others) can be found at:
http://www.triusinc.com/techs/
As I stated in a different post, I just wish the admin would put *all* the uploaded documents in a single list, somewhere.

I *just* found this, so I don't know what the *old* look was, but I like the simple, clean interface of the site, too.

Energy Sources of the near future
I see all these discussions about nuclear, some (few) about solar, etc. but nobody seems to be touching the "hot" issue of the day. With the abundance of natural gas (because of fracking), all other energy options all of a sudden seem more expensive and less competitive. It looks like coal...
